“Victorian Lace” Necklace
18K gold, 14K gold, onyx, diamonds, inlays of Ontario gold ore
23.5 x 16 cms
In Victorian England, black jewellery was very popular due to Queen Victoria’s mourning the death of her husband, Prince Albert. Unique onyx beads evoke the era and lace embossed gold completes the pun. The very high grade gold ore used as an inlay is from a mine in northern Ontario.
